7 Course Description The course aims to involve students with concepts, ideas, and terminology pertinent to lifelong
careers in the tourism and hospitality industries; articulate their thoughts and ideas proficiently
within the realm of tourism and hospitality, elevating their performance and crafting memorable
guest experiences, particularly in the context of multicultural diversity within the workplace; apply
critical thinking in addressing work-related issues and concerns, and adapting to the different work
environments and situations in relevance to multicultural diversity; strive for personal and
professional growth in tourism and hospitality through research, experiential learning, and self-
study; and to enhance industry quality, foster an entrepreneurial mindset, and contribute to national
development.
8 Course Learning Outcomes At the end of the course the student should be able to:
 Acquire a comprehensive grasp of essential concepts, ideas, and industry-specific
terminology for lifelong success in the tourism and hospitality fields.
 Effective Expression and Adaptation: Develop the ability to communicate ideas adeptly
within the tourism and hospitality domain, leading to improved performance and the creation
of memorable guest experiences, while also demonstrating critical thinking in diverse work
settings.

9 Assessment and Evaluation Details To pass the course you must:
 Read and understand all course modules;
 Get at least 50% correct answers on all graded quizzes for midterm and finals; and
 Participate in face-to-face formative activities, or online should there be any virtual conduct
of discussion.

1. A student must come to class prepared, by having the assigned readings read ahead of time.
2. He/she must attend at least 80% of the total number of hours prescribed by the course.
3. He/she must take all quizzes and examinations during the scheduled period.
4. A student must uphold intellectual honesty especially during examinations.
Class Policies:
1. Students shall participate actively or get involve in group dynamics and other group activities. Group activities will be part of class participation.
2. All students are expected to take major exams as scheduled. In general, no special exam or re-test shall be given except when circumstances will warrant
but valid supporting documents shall be presented.
