Topic: Global Zero: Achieving Nuclear Disarmament and Non-Proliferation

Signatories: United States of America, Germany, France, Israel, United Kingdom, Egypt, Russia,
India, China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Denmark, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Canada,
Sudan, Oman, and Pakistan

The Security Council,

Guided by the rules and regulations of the United Nations Charter,

Aware of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, Partial Test Ban Treaty, Threshold Test Ban
Treaty, Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, United Nations Security Council Resolutions 984, and
1540, and the significant role played by them in nuclear disarmament,

Observing the rising geopolitical tensions from the Iran Missile Crisis,
Recognizing the importance of negotiations to take place with countries that do not ratify the
Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, such as India, DPRK, Pakistan, and Israel,

Noting the various loopholes currently present in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT),
such as the lack of an accountability and enforcement mechanism in the existing text of the
treaty,

Taking into account that the process of nuclear demilitarization is a long-term process, and is not
feasible to be completely fulfilled by 2045,

Recognizing the need for establishment of Nuclear Weapons Free Zones in conflicted regions
globally, such as the Asian region, which includes countries such as Pakistan, to avoid chances of
future occurrences of tragedies like Ojhri Camp,

Bearing in mind the existing geo-political issues in the South Asian region, such as the threat of
nuclear warfare in the cases of Kashmir, and the disputed regions of the Sikkim Border;

Noting further the feasibility and benefits of establishment of a Nuclear Weapons Free Zone in
the Middle-East, to further mitigate threats of the occurrence of any war involving the use of
biological weapons between Iran and other countries present in the Middle-East,
Cognizant of the existing “No-First Use Policy” between India and China in the issue of the
Kashmir issue, and recommends the complete implementation and bringing about of similar
bilateral and multilateral agreements internationally,

Suggesting the establishment of a new committee to address non-proliferation efforts in orbital


space, ensuring security not only on earth, but also in outer space.
