b. identify Nail Care Tools, and
c. explain the uses of Nail Care Tools according to task requirement.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Nail Care Tools and Equipment.

Sub-Topic: Nail Care Tools.
Teaching Materials: Laptop, PPT. and Television.
Reference: Grade 8 T.L.E Module 1 pages. 6-11

III. Procedure

A. Preliminary Activities/ Daily Routine:

C. Motivation:

D. Presentation of the Lesson:

Discussion Proper
Nail Care Tools

Tools- are also known as implements, it is used in different Nail Care

Services. They are hand-held and durable.

1. Callous Remover- it is used to remove or take off callous and corn.

2. Cuticle Nail Pusher- it is intended to push back and remove the cuticles of nails.
3. Cuticle Nipper- is an implement that is used for cutting of the cuticles.
4. Foot File- is a nail care tool with two sides, the one side is rough file, while the
other side is fine file, it is used to smoothen the feet. It is made of metal or sand
paper.
5. Manicure Tray- is a tool which is flat that contains the needed tools and
implements to be used in manicuring and pedicuring.
6. Nail Buffer- is an implement is essential for the purpose of smoothing and
polishing the nails.
7. Cutter/ Nail Clipper/ Nail Trimmer- is made up of metal that is intended to trim
finger nails and toenails
8. Manicure Nail Brush- is used to clean dirt cosmetic residue from the nail
surface and skin. It has soft bristles made from nylon.
9. Nail File- is a tool that has two sides the first side which is the coarse side is
used to shape the free edges of the nail. And the other side, which is the fine
side, is used to bevel the nail.
10. Orangewood Stick- is an implement used in removing excess polish, it has
pointed and rounded ends.
11. Trolley- is a cart with wheels that is pushed by the hand and used to hold and
transfer from one place to another all the manicuring and pedicuring tools.
12. Pumice Stone- is a type of volcanic rock that is light weight and used in
removing dry and annoying skin of the feet.
13. Glass or Plastic Container for Cotton- is a small jar or bowl contains cotton.
14. Emery Board- is card coated for strip of thin wood with emery or another
abrasive.

2. Can you share your own experience while you are doing cleaning your own
nails?

tools or implements before facilitating manicuring and pedicuring?
