Mia's part
Introduction to Ratio
Ratio is used to compare two or more
quantities of the same kind that are measured
in the same unit

Lingbee's part
"Relationship of three and two quantities"
1.Ratios are aslo used to compare three quantities of the same
kind and with the same unit of mesurement .

2.Ratio for three quantities is written as a:b:c and read as the ratio of
a to b to c.

3.The ratio of two quantities, a and b, is the comparison of two quantities of the
same kind and with the same unit of mesurement.

4.A ratio is written as a : b or a/b, where b 0.The symbol ‘ : ‘ is

read as ‘to’.

5.Ratios are written without units and in their simplest forms.

Aisyah's part
"Equivalent ratios"
Equivalent ratios are similar to equivalent fractions.Since a ratio is a
comparison between numbers,so equivalent ratios show the same
comparison between different sets of numbers.

Equivalent ratios are obtained when every part f a ratio

is multiplied or divided by the same whole number.

Mia's part
Example equivalent ratios:

Determine whether each of the following pairs of

ratio is equivalent.

(a) 3 : 5 and 12 : 20

Abittra's part
Example equivalent ratios:
Determine whether each of the following pairs of ratio is equivalent

Solution

✖️
(a) 3 : 5 = 3 4 : 5 ✖️ 4 ➗
12 : 20 = 12 4 : 20 ➗4
= 12 : 20 Or =3:5

Thus,3: 5 and 12 : 20 are equivalent ratios.

Azfa's part
Express ratios in simplest form"
write the first part of the ratio as the numerator and the sum of the two
parts as the denominator and then simplify the fraction.
