Problem

1) A load impedance ZL = 100 + j80  is to be matched to a 75  line using a single shunt-stub tuner.
Find two designs using open-circuited stubs.
A1: d = 0.406 , ls = 0.122
A2: d = 0.228, ls= 0.378

2) Repeat Problem 1 using short-circuited stubs.

A1: d = 0.406, ls = 0.378
A2: d = 0.228, ls = 0.128

3) A load impedance ZL = 90 - j60  is to be matched to a 75  line using a single series-stub tuner. Find
two designs using open-circuited stubs.
A1: d = 0.2686, ls = 0.103
A2: d = 0.0759, ls = 0.397

4) Repeat Problem 3 using short-circuited stubs.

A1: d = 0.269 , ls = 0.353
A2: d = 0.0759, ls = 0.147

5) A 50  lossless line is to be matched to an antenna with ZL = 100 + j50  using a shorted stub. Use the
Smith chart to determine the stub length and distance between the antenna and stub.
A1: d = 0.199λ , ls = 0.125λ.
A2: d = 0.375λ , ls = 0.375λ.
