STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES


Equipment Steam boiler

Operation To start

Capacity 6 ton

Make Thermax

1. Boiler feed water can be filled 75% gauge glass level with fill mode operation yes

2. check boiler mounting then keep in on condition yes

3. Ensure should not be any leakage in valve / joints / gasket area yes

4. Ensure and check furnace / grate properly cleaned from ash / deposition if any yes

5. Check ID and FD fan damper operation yes

6. Ensure to check air availability for feed water control , feed water inlet valve in on condition yes

7. Boiler air vent valve in open condition yes

8. Now the fuel can be fed inside the furnace / retort as per feeding philosophy yes

9. Initial firing can be slow with recommended sequence ( 15minute to 20mintue ) yes

ID fan should be in on condition
11. After 15minute on the FD Fan yes

12. Slowly increase the furnace temperature yes

13. If furnace temperature reach 300℃ then adjust the FD-30% to 50% then open the damper yes

14. Observe main furnace shut off when boiler reaches operating Pressure yes

15. After water boiling vapour coming with 1kg/cm2 pressure then close the air vent valve yes

16. Safety valve and Pressure switch operation need to be checked to ensure safely is in line and man yes
goal and met goal also need to check
17. Then main steam valve open yes

18. Give the steam to production yes

19. Stop the firing in the furnace yes

Working pressure need to reduce zero level yes

Cooling water need to fill in the sell in then feed water working pressure come down on zero yes

ID-fan continually running up to furnace cooling in normal temperature yes

Main steam valve need to close yes

Fill the feed water 85% in water drum yes

Maintain 90% feed water in the boiler yes

Switch off the panel yes

1) Wear all PPE,S in boiler area


2) don’t allow unauthorized person inside the boiler area
3) Follow the SOP ,for to start and showdown the boiler
4) Competent person only authorized to run the boiler
