Introductory Message
For the facilitator:
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and evaluated by
the Development and Quality Assurance Teams of SDO TAPAT to assist
you in helping the learners meet the standards set by the K to 12
Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and economic
constraints in schooling.
As a facilitator, you are expected to orient the learners on how to use
this module. You also need to keep track of the learners' progress while
allowing them to manage their own learning. Furthermore, you are
expected to encourage and assist the learners as they do the tasks
included in the module.
For the learner:
This module was designed to provide you with fun and meaningful
opportunities for guided and independent learning at your own pace
and time. You will be enabled to process the contents of the learning
resource while being an active learner.
The following are some reminders in using this module:

1. Use the module with care. Do not put unnecessary mark/s on any
part of the module. Use a separate sheet of paper in answering
the exercises.
2. Don’t forget to answer What I Know before moving on to the other
activities included in the module.
3. Read the instruction carefully before doing each task.
4. Observe honesty and integrity in doing the tasks and checking

What’s the meaning?

Consonant digraph is made up of two consonants sounded as


one. Common digraphs are ch and sh.
Chona, Chad, and chips are words with ch.
Shane, shake, and fish are words with sh.
Digraph ch has different sounds.
It sounds as k in choir and chord.
It sounds as ch in chin and chart.
It sounds as sh in pitch and ranch.

What did I get?


Consonant digraph is a group of consonants sounded as one.
Digraphs can be found in the beginning. It can be in the middle or
end of a word. Digraph ch has different sounds. In some words it
sounds as ch. In other words it sounds as k, or sh.

sh.
Circle the words with soft ch /sh/and box those with hard
ch /k/

Chaos of Happy Chores
It was a Saturday. The Grade Three Maligaya had a picnic. Teacher
Shine smiles. She saw a chaos of happy chores.
The children run around happily. Chase eats his favorite chocolate. She
looked at the big ship. It docked on the shore. Peach fixes the leash of
her dog Smash. Shane fills his chubby cheeks with fried chicken. Ash
brings out chips and nachos and cheese dip. Nash prepares their
mango shake on the wooden chairs. Sheena walks along the beach to
picks shells. Chuck and Sheila check out the sharp thorn of rose bushes.
Tristan teaches Jack guitar chords of a new song. Mark plays chess with
Shaira. Everyone was busy but having fun.
