Loaded Mac and Cheese

Serves: 4
INGREDIENTS :
o 1 box Laura Lynn macaroni and cheese
o 4 cups water
o ¼ cup milk
o ¼ cup butter
o 2 cups broccoli florets
o ¼ tsp. salt
o ¼ tsp. pepper
o ¼ tsp. nutmeg
o ¼ tsp. paprika
o 12 oz. smoked sausage, sliced
DIRECTIONS :
1. In a large pot, bring the water to a boil over high heat. Add the
macaroni and cook according to the package directions, stirring
occasionally, until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and
return to the pot.
2. In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter over low heat until
the butter is melted. Stir in the cheese powder from the box and
whisk until smooth and creamy.
3. In a microwave-safe bowl, toss the broccoli with salt, pepper,
nutmeg, and paprika. Cover with a damp paper towel and
microwave on high for 3 to 4 minutes, or until crisp-tender.
4. In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium-high heat, turning
occasionally, until browned and heated through, about 10 to 15
minutes.
5. Place the broccoli and sausage into the macaroni and cheese
and stir to combine.
Note: You can swap out the sausage for ground beef, ground turkey,
or diced ham.
