Effective communication helps guide the teacher and the students to
make the virtual classroom conducive for learning. Having proper Internet
etiquette in interacting with each other will facilitate better understanding of
the lesson and respect among the students attending the same session.

This material discusses the following arrangement in terms of:

 Technology requirement
 Online App requirement (BPC Portal )
 Lesson Materials
 General Internet etiquette Guidelines

GENERAL NETIQUETTE GUIDELINES

 Identify your complete name for proper recognition.

 Attend the proper class code provided by the teacher. As a respect, avoid
logging in or entering other section’s virtual classes.

 Read first. Take time to read instructions carefully. Think and plan your
answers.

 Regularly update yourself by checking for some posts or updates. Avoid

misinforming others. Ask your teacher respectfully. If you are not
confident about your question, you may send a private message. However,
the teacher may answer in public as your question is viable information
for the whole class. So the teacher might indirectly answer your question
through his or her post.

 No Yelling. Yes, you can yell even at online class. Yelling in a form of
using ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. You may only use ALL CAPS when
emphasizing an instruction or a message. This is usually used by the
teacher towards his or her students.

 Use the CHAT BOX properly. Utilize the chat box only on relevant and
related issues. Once in a while we use the chat box to shout out greetings
to enforce positivity in our e-class.

 Look for the answer before asking questions. Your question might have
been asked by your classmates and it has already been answered
previously. Go, check it out first.

 Do not create side conversations (while class is on-going) as it will distract

you from learning.
 Share to your teacher respectfully of your reactions and comments as how
the class was conducted. This will help your teacher improve classroom
management.

CONDUCT OF ONLINE ACTIVITIES

 Submit requirements earlier or on time as scheduled. This will prevent

you from taking tons of online responsibilities in a day.

 Be meticulous in indicating your source or references to avoid the issue of

plagiarism.

 Honesty is highly solicited among the students in all of the classroom

requirements. This may include, but not limited to, borrowing someone
else’s assignment, cheating during online activities and plagiarizing class
outputs. Students who are caught involved in cheating (in any form –
online or offline) will automatically get a grade equivalent to zero (0) and a
demerit record in our Student Discipline Committee / Office of Student
Affairs.
