I. Objectives
At the end of 45 minutes’ discussion, the students are expected to:
a. identify the various ways to access information stored in a computer;
b. create a file using MS Word in the computer; and
c. demonstrate an understanding of accessing information stored in
computer through actual operation.

Topic: Ways to Access Information Stored in a Computer

III. Procedures
A. Preliminary Activities
Prayer
The teacher asks one student to lead a prayer.
Greetings
The teacher greets the students.
Checking of attendance
The teacher checks and records the attendance of the
students.
Review
The teacher asks the class about the previous lesson, and
what they have learned.

Motivation
The teacher posts pictures on the board, and ask random
students to describe it.
B. Lesson Proper
A. Activity
The teacher asks the students to create a file using MS Word.
Analysis
The teacher asks random students to answer the following questions:
1. What are the processes in saving a file?
2. How do you access your file after you save it?
B. Abstraction
The teacher discusses the ways to access information stored in a
computer.
Method 1.
Manually locate the file. This method is applicable whether your file is
stored in a hard disk, flash drive, network drive, CD/DVD, or portable
external hard disk.
1. Use shortcut key Window + E to launch windows explorer. Window
+ E means to press and hold down first Window key (do not
release), followed by letter E key then release both keys.
2. Point your mouse and double click to the drive (drive C, D, E for
example) where you store your file.

3. Once you found your file, double click the mouse to open it.
3. On the upper right corner of the window, you will find the search box
4. Enter the filename you want to search in the search box and press enter.
5. A list of files will be displayed as a result of a search. Select your file and
double click to open it.

The teacher asks the students to demonstrate an understanding of accessing
