Research Title: A Narrative Study: Illuminating Trans-formative Journey of a Nursing Student

into a Practicing Physician

Introduction

The B.S.N. program is a four-year course that integrates general education, major,
and professional nursing courses. It incorporates clinical classes and emphasizes nursing
principles and related learning experiences (RLEs) from the first to the fourth year. The program
provides an intensive nursing practicum that enhances nursing competencies to achieve the
B.S.N. program outcomes essential for entry-level nurses. The B.S.N. program is designed to
equip professional nurses to take up entry-level positions in hospital facilities and community
settings, as indicated by the University, T. S. (2023).

The fields of nursing and medicine require a great deal of hard work, including extensive
training, internships, and classes. Nurses must develop an in-depth understanding of anatomy,
physiology, pharmacology, and other related subjects. Nursing is also popular because some
universities offer programs that enable students to transition smoothly into medical school. A
distinct set of difficulties, encounters, and life-changing events accompany the shift from nursing
to practising physician, which needs to be thoroughly discussed and shared. By shedding light on
the various perspectives of the journey, the causes affecting this shift, and the effects it has on
people's personal and professional experiences, this research seeks to close this gap. By filling
this void of knowledge, this narrative study hopes to benefit the healthcare and educational
sectors with insightful knowledge that will guide the creation of better training curricula and
support networks for those starting this life-changing transformative journey.

According to Umar et al. (2022), The participants, teachers, and their students have
shown a high level of satisfaction with Nursing One in terms of its content, layout, language
type, activities, and attempt to cater to the academic and professional needs of the learners. These
findings have led to the conclusion that Nursing, with all these advantages and qualities, is
suitable for premedical students studying in the Preparatory College at U.Q.U. and will benefit
other students elsewhere in learning English for medical purposes. Based on the data from the
American Association of Colleges of Nursing [AACN] ( 2008), The practice of nursing is
founded on nursing knowledge, theory, and research. It draws on insights from different fields
and professions, modifying and implementing them as needed to fit the demands of professional
practice.

The insights passed on the number of graduates in nursing within the Organization for
Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) nations per 100,000 occupants in 2021.
( Jenny Yang, 2023) In 2022, according to the Bureau of Labor Measurement, 258 thousand
nurse specialists are in the United States. These measurements show that the number of nursing
graduates increased, as well as the number of nurture specialists, with 573. The B.S.N. course is
the finest choice to select as a pre-med course and become a honing doctor. As mentioned by
Berlin (2018), For most aspiring doctors, nursing is not just a decent choice but the perfect
decision for pre-med. In addition to studies, nurses must complete demanding training and
internships to pass, much like in medicine. Some universities make the transition smoother,
which is another reason why many study nursing.

Most understudies are inclined toward seeking the nursing course since it is requesting
and clear towards securing a job. Their report shows that 82.2 percent of understudies depend on
insurance at a palatable financial level, as detailed by Kraja et al. (2022). The American
Affiliation of Colleges of Nursing documented that less than 2 percent of medical caretakers
have doctoral degrees in Nursing. Furthermore, a share of the understudies, with a rate of 81.8
per cent, have fundamental perseverance toward the calling from Neumbe et al. (2023). The
course has a drawback, mainly when the objective is to become.

Nursing courses are an excellent way for students to establish a strong foundation for
pursuing a career as a licensed physician. These courses are designed to provide learners with a
comprehensive understanding of healthcare and the medical field and the essential skills and
competencies necessary for success in the industry. One such critical skill is interdisciplinary
teamwork, vital in healthcare settings. Nursing courses involve critical thinking, evidence-based
practice, and problem-solving. These skills are pivotal in the medical field and are developed
through the rigorous transformational process that nursing students undergo. The nursing
curriculum drives students' passion and determination, enabling them to acquire a deep
understanding of healthcare, human anatomy, and physiology. Through nursing courses, students
learn how to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, essential in providing
efficient and effective patient care.

The lack of thorough narratives delving into the emotional, social, and psychological
aspects of transitioning from a nursing student to a practising physician characterizes the
research gap. By gathering and understanding narratives, introspection, and lived experiences of
people going through this transition, this study aims to close this gap. Doing so provides a more
comprehensive picture of the journey, revealing subtle elements that could impact the successful
transition into medical practice and advance the professional growth of healthcare professionals.

This study aims to shed light on the metamorphosis of a nursing student into a practising
physician by delving into the various aspects of their professional growth, personal development,
and the intricate obstacles they encounter during their journey. The research aims to provide a
comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted perspective of the transformation process from
a student into a competent physician.

This study explores nursing students' experiences seeking a medical profession, focusing
on their dedication, commitment, and problems. The study emphasizes the students' dedication
since they spend significant time, energy, and resources on their studies and training. The
challenging curriculum of nursing and medical programs and personal duties create academic,
emotional, and physical challenges. Nursing students' formative years are crucial for their
professional development as they grow, transform, and experience self-doubt. It emphasizes
nursing students' contributions to the healthcare industry and the significance of guiding them in
creating their identities as physicians.
