Eumind has helped me learn a lot of things that I never
thought I would have learned. I learned about a whole new
culture and how different it is to our culture. When I first got
selected for Eumind, I was so excited and happy to be a part
of this, but I never knew how much I would have learned till
now. Communicating with the Dutch people is a truly great
experience since everytime I talk to them, I learn more and
more about them. In our meetings, we discussed and
communicated about the differences and similarities between
us and their school life and culture. I truly feel the group put in
their hard work to communicate and learn more about us
and them, every meeting taught me something that i never
would have known before, and it was always a fun meeting!

Eumind has taught me a lot, it’s very interesting to learn how the
schedules of the Dutch are. I found out how they are actually
quite different from us. Reading their research was very
interesting & entertaining at the same time. I’m so glad that i got
to be a part of this journey as it’s been a great experience

Being part of the eumind process has helped me find out so much
more about the dutch that I never had the chance to know before.
Since the first day of eumind I was excited to meet the Dutch
students get to know them and make an alliance with them. The day
we got to meet them I was extremely exciting as we got more
insight on their perspective of things. It was like we were given a
chance to look at the same assignments that we were made to do
from their eyes and understand how they went forward with it,
which helped me understand more about their thought process. We
discussed about their lives and the differences and similarities it has
from ours and their school life since that is the topic of our group. I
was intrigued to know more about them, their behaviour, their
everyday life and how it’s different from ours. Eumind so far as
helped me learn exactly that and has in a way let me travel to
holland and learn more about life outside of India with us still being
in a pandemic.

Eumind was a great opportunity for me, I got to learn a lot from
the Dutch students. I was so excited to meet the Dutch students
and even though, our first interaction was very awkward, we
worked around it and managed to get close and learn so much.
Of course I was saddened because we could'nt actually go there
but I think we still managed to understand their culture well. I
think this program would've been much better if we tried to have
more interactions with the Dutch students. In our interactions we
did manage to agree that India and Netherlands may have a few
simmilarities but are still poles apart.

Comparison
wWhen we compared the grandparent's interviews, we noticed
both Indian grandparents and Dutch gradparents had many
siblings and lived in joint families. We also noticed most Dutch
people went to "co-ed" schools while in India most our parents
and grandparents went to single sex schools.. We also noticed
our generations school life was very similiar to the Dutch parents'
school life. The dutch schooling system focuses a lot on extra
curriculars and sports while the Indian schooling system is a lot
more academic focused, every member of the dutch group
played a sport wheather it be tennis, hockey or soccer, though in
India our school doesn't offer us that many choices in sports, we
can only choose from soccer and basketball. For the Dutch
grandparents, their school started a lot earlier compared to our
grandparents, our grandparents' schools started around 10am
while the dutch schools started at 8:30am. Another difference we
noticed was, in netherlands they reffer to their teachers as
miss/sir and their surname, while in India we normally reffer to
teachers as miss/sir and their first name. In the interviews the
Dutch teachers are reffered to as very strict while in our
interviews, we said that the teachers weren't that strict unless
they really needed too. Overall, we believe our school systems
were pretty similar especially in our generation.
