II. Session Details
Lesson Title BALANCED AND UNBALANCED FORCES
Learning Area Identify and describe everyday situations that demonstrate:
Competencies a. balanced forces, and
b. unbalanced forces.
Key Concepts for a. Promotion of social justice is essential to build peace between and among the members of the
Integration community
b. Building a sense of freedom from fear of violence between individuals or groups must be
carried out
c. Peace Inclusion, among Social Justice and Strong Institutions, serves as one of the guiding
principles in the attainment of the other 16 Sustainable Development Goals which provide
common features of aspirations and interventions.

III. Facilitation Strategies


Components Duration Activities and Procedures
Activity: Concept Map: The Sustainable Development Goals

Materials: Whiteboard, markers, pictures of the 17 sustainable development


goals.
• Introduce the topic. Display some pictures illustrating the different
concerns and issues of the world.
Introduction and Warm-Up 10 minutes
• Ask: "What's happening in the world from past to present? How might they
feel about these changes?"
• Allow each learner to classify what global goals are these events aligned
with.
• Share experiences related to each picture we call in the context of the
lesson as “pieces”

• Summarize key points. Note on the board. Stress the importance of these
pieces in the attainment of an apex photo which is SDG 16-Peace, Justice,
and Strong Institutions.
Note: This activity relates empathy as the ability to comprehend and share
the feelings of others, forming a crucial aspect of human connection in the
context of sustainable development goals and peacekeeping
Activity: Let’s Organize

Note: One of the process skills in Science a learner needs to develop is classifying
and organizing.

Materials: The 17 images of Sustainable Development Goals


• Arrange the class accordingly considering equal opportunity to all types of
learners regardless of their diversities and differences
• Explain the rules. Focus on expressing empathy-related themes cognizant
to environmental conservation and restoration
• Based on the different task cards that will be presented, ask the learners
to process the following words: Aspirations/Guiding
Principles/Intervention.
Concept Exploration 15 minutes • Have them reflect on each word.
• Form three groups. Let them group the 17 Sustainable development goals
relative to the features presented in processing the three (3) crucial words.
This activity fosters positive relationships and social interactions which
requires the ability to recognize and respond to a range of emotions and
situations through collaboration.

Note: Clear pictures of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals that are the
pieces needed to establish a peaceful world should be established.

Activity: The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (Filipino)

Materials: Film clip, projector/screen


• Present a video clip.
• Prompt learners and discuss the impact of initiating programs, projects,
and activities relative to the issues shown in the video.
Valuing 20 minutes • Ask this reflective question: "How do you perceive those learners who are
actively engaged in initiating programs, projects, and activities in their
school and community settings towards the attainment of peace in the
community? What SDGs are being addressed?

Note: This activity helps people understand the importance of these goals
and their interlinkages specifically in the eyes of the learners where these
concepts should be taught first.
Activity: Building Peace by Piece

Materials: Journals, writing tools, coloring materials, cellphones for digital


entries, bond paper.
• Present the passage “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is
progress, and working together is success” by Henry Ford.
• Explain the task: Creatively express thoughts on the need for collaboration
and peacekeeping in the community based on the presented passage.
Reflective Journaling 15 minutes • Allow time to write, draw, or record thoughts.
• Sharing Option: Offer learners the chance to share reflections.
• Conclude by emphasizing the critical role of understanding and practicing
empathy for positive social interactions and relationships which is
necessary for environmental conservation and restoration.

Note: This activity promotes active participation in school and community-


based activities which are essential for learners to internalize and apply
empathy as a critical social skill in their daily lives.
