ABSTRACT

This study investigated the Influence of resilienc, social skill and academic
competitiveness on academic stress among undergraduates in EKSU. population
selected for the study were two hundred (200) students, which 104(52%)
participants were males and 96(48%) participants were females.

It was found that there was no significant influence of social skill on academic
stress among undergraduate students in EKSU. It was also discovered that there
was no significant influence of academic competitiveness on academic stress
among students in EKSU. It was also discovered that there was no significant
influence of resilience on academic stress among undergraduate students im
EKSU. Finally, it was found that there was a significant relationship between
resilience and social skill while other variables have no significant relationship.

The method used in collecting the data is survey method. It enable information to
be obtained from a representative sample of the population, Random sampling
method was used. The instrument used in the study is Resilience scale (RS),
Academic stress scale (ASS), Social skill scale (SSS), and Social value orientation
scale (SVO).

Finally, based on the findings certain recommendation were given to the


management of the institution that their should create a workshop that will enable
the students to cope with stress and help them relate with other students.
