METHODOLOGY

Research Design
An experimental design was utilized in a research paper that focused on the
application of rice husks. The study involved three treatments and progressed through
four phases. Initially, researchers gathered and prepared the necessary materials for
the experiment. Following this, they produced a soundproof panel from rice husk. The
third phase involved creating the soundproof panel using a mixture of rice husk and a
binding agent. Finally, a test was conducted on the newly developed soundproof panel
made from rice husk. Throughout the study, researchers followed a direct procedure,
resulting in the successful creation of an environmentally friendly soundproof panel
from rice husk.

Phase 1: Gathering and Preparation of Materials

In gathering materials for the research, the researchers sourced rice husk
locally. Additionally, the researchers obtained angle bar, steel flat sheet, and mesh
wire string to construct a molder. The meticulous preparation of the molder involved
welding the angle bar to form a sturdy frame, attaching the steel flat sheet at the base.
Furthermore, the researchers bought one (1) bag of cement to serve as the binding
agent for the soundproof panel.

Phase 2: Production of Soundproof Panels from Rice Husk

The researchers carefully measured the rice husk according to the specific
treatment requirements. Fifty-four kilograms of rice husk were thoroughly washed
with tap water to ensure cleanliness. Following the washing process, the rice husk was
then mixed with the binding agent for a duration ranging from one to three minutes.
This meticulous approach was taken to ensure the proper preparation and mixing of
the rice husk with the binding agent for the next phases of the experiment.

Phase 3: Soundproof Testing

In all three treatments, the process of creating the soundproof panel remained
consistent. Initially, the researchers mixed the rice husk with the binding agent for
each treatment. Subsequently, they used a molder to shape the soundproof panel. The
panels were then subjected to a hydraulic press or manual press to ensure firm binding
before being sun-dried on a flat surface for several days. The procedure was uniform
across all treatments, with the only distinction being the varying amounts of the rice
husk and binding agent mixture used in each treatment.

Data Collection
The impact of rice husk as a soundproof panel was thoroughly investigated
through drop tests and soundproofing ability tests. These tests were meticulously
carried out by researchers at the Naguilian National High School Annex campus. To
assess the soundproofing capabilities of the panels, each treatment underwent a
soundproof ability test. During this test, six soundproof panels per treatment were
crafted to form a box in which a speaker was placed. The noise reduction achieved by
the rice husk soundproof panels was measured and recorded as data for the next
analysis.

Statistical Analysis
There were three treatments in this study, Treatment 1 with 1.5 kg of rice
husk, Treatment 2 with 3 kg of rice husk, and Treatment 3 with 4.5 kg of rice husk.
One way ANOVA was used as the statistical tool. The researchers input the data
gathered and interpret the results. The statistical analysis of this study was done
through Microsoft excel.
