in crime prevention.

One the one hand, according to some people, it is government responsibility to stop crime from happening, and
I agree. In other words, government have the power create strict rules. This clearly make people feel afraid to
commit any types of crimes. For example, in Malaysia, capital punishment is gave to people who smuggling
drugs to the country , so this crime is not common here. Furthermore, the government has enough money to
come up with technological devices that can stop people from doing crime. They can install CCTV’s camera on
the street to monitor all the activities there, and this will stop people from breaking the law because they know
they are watched all the time.

On the other hand, some people think that it is individuals responsibility to protect themself. This is because
when people leave their home to work, it is their job to make sure that they lock their doors all the time, so no
one can be enter their house. They also should inform their neigbours whenever they travel somewhere for a
long time because someone can watch their house. Another reason is that some people are irresponsible. Some
individuals choose to walk alone at night .they know that it is dangerous. Therefore, it is their responsible to
take care of themselves and not to walk alone at night.

To sum up, while people may vary in their opinions, I think it is the responsibility of the government to protect
its citizens from crime.
