My name is Sydney Kamus, and I am eager to present you with my cover letter and
resume regarding the Elementary Teaching Position within the Dallas School District for the
2024-2025 school year. I earned my Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from
Luzerne County Community College in 2022. I continued to pursue my education at Wilkes
University, earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education with a
Minor in Reading and a Concentration in Special Education for grades PK-12.
Through the Education Program at Luzerne County Community College and Wilkes
University, I have worked with students with a variety of academic abilities, needs, and styles.
While working with students, I have developed a passion for building students’ motivation and
confidence in their learning. My experiences have allowed me to establish valuable knowledge
of the education process for students with a variety of knowledge and ability levels. I am a
strongly motivated, passionate, and student-centered teacher. It would be a wonderful
opportunity to join the Dallas School Districts team of educators that have established a culture
of high expectations for developing their students’ academic and personal success. I have the
ability and determination to teach children the importance of education while increasing their
knowledge and self-confidence. An essential component of academic success is differentiating
my teaching strategies and lesson plans to meet the needs, abilities, and learning style of every
student.
I am confident that I will be a positive asset in your school district by meeting the needs
of the students, increasing their engagement, motivation, and their personal and academic
