WEEK 2

WRITING
BIBLIOGRAPHY
(APA FORMAT)
QUARTER 4 - LESSON 2
WHAT IS BIBLIOGRAPHY?
It comes from the Greek words "biblio,” meaning "book,” and
"graphia,” which means "writing." When combined, they refer
to “the writing of books.”

It is a list of all the sources you consulted while writing your

paper.

Also known as a list of works cited

May appear at the end of a book, report, online presentation,

or research paper
IMPORTANCE
Why do we need to cite or list the sources?

to give credit to the authors

to provide evidence that your paper is based on credible

sources

to avoid accusations of plagiarism

In formal research, all sources used, whether quoted directly

or synopsized, should be included in the bibliography.
APA FORMAT
Basic bibliographic information includes title, author or
editor, publisher, and the year the current edition was
published or copyrighted.

APA stands for American Psychological Association

Latest edition: APA 7th edition
