Retirees in

Malaga

The aim of this report is to demonstrate the growing relationship between
retirees and the city by analyzing the causes of this connection and what can
be done to improve it.
In Malaga there are more and more people who, after their junior years,
decide to settle down and enjoy their permanent retirement in this city.
Statistics increasingly show the increase in retired people in the city of
Malaga
However, it is worth noting that this is not because many people retired in
Malaga, it is because many retirees, both foreign and national, find the city
attractive in all aspects after retiring.
Some of the reasons why Malaga is attractive are
Climate: Malaga has a mild and pleasant Mediterranean climate for most
of the year. With mild winters and warm summers, the climate allows for
outdoor activities to be enjoyed all year round, which contributes to the
well-being and quality of life of retirees.
Culture and lifestyle: Malaga is a city rich in culture, history and traditions.
It offers a wide range of cultural activities, from visiting museums and art
galleries to enjoying local cuisine and participating in festivals and
cultural events. The relaxed lifestyle and Andalusian hospitality make
Malaga a welcoming place for retirees.
Cost of living: Compared to other European cities, the cost of living in
Malaga can be more affordable, allowing retirees to live comfortably on a
reasonable budget. Prices for housing, food and other services may be
more affordable in Malaga compared to other European cities.
Infrastructure and services: Malaga has excellent infrastructure and a
wide range of health, transportation and recreation services. Retirees
have access to quality healthcare, sports facilities, parks and green
spaces, as well as an efficient public transportation network.
In my opinion, to address the challenge of the large population of elderly and
retired people in Malaga, the following measures must be taken:
Create more employment opportunities for all ages.
Develop affordable and adapted housing.
Improve health care and long-term care services.
Promote coexistence between generations.
Promote active and healthy lifestyles.
Facilitate access to technology and accessible transportation.
