penghubung (conjunction)

Kalimat yang dihubungkan oleh FOR, Kalimat yang dihubungkan oleh AFTER,
AND, NOR, BUT, OR, YET, SO WHEN, AS, SINCE, BECAUSE, IF, DLL
(Coordinate Conjunction) dengan pola: (Subordinate Conjunction) dengan pola:

• Risti is tall, but Rizki is short


• Risti is singing, and Rizki is dancing • I back home before the rain falls

Klausa ganda yang disederhanakan dengan cara menghilangkan beberapa


komponen seperti:

1. Konjungsi atau to be
“The man who is talking to my mom is my uncle” menjadi “The man talking to
my mom is my uncle”
2. Menganti kata kerja menjadi kata kerja -ing/V-ing
“I just saw a car that looks like your car” menjadi “I just saw a car looking like
your car”
3. Menghilangkan subjek+predikat atau menggantinya dengan V-ing

“When you talk to audience, you should talk clearly” menjadi “When talking to
audience, you should talk clearly”

“Although she is bored, she keeps listening to the lecture” menjadi “Although s
bored, she keeps listening to the lecture”
