necrotic energy at the time of their death. Normally, the necrosis fades away, but on rare
occasions it can fester in the body, twisting the skeleton, sprouting a void of black hair, and
instilling an innate need to kill and consume.
The bristle bane creates a lair somewhere isolated, perhaps a cavern or the dungeon of
an abandoned keep, where it can expand its hair to encompass the surfaces around it. Sentient
bundles of necrotic hair emerge to protect their master and lure unfortunate travelers to their
doom. The only other company the bristle bane keeps is the undead that gravitate around it and
the growing number of carcasses intertwined with the hair-covered walls.
