TRAVEL INDUSTRY
It is one of the largest service industries
in the world, an increasingly important
one in the modern age. It is concerned
with providing services related to travel
from one location to another. This
includes services that are directly
related to the travel itself, such as
transportation, but also includes
services related to catering for
travellers’ needs and wants after they
have arrived at their destination.
TRANSPORATION SECTOR
A tourist can travel by a variety of
means. Tourism professionals, as
well as tourists, should be aware of
the various modes of transport
available to reach the destination.

Land/Ground transport is integral to the life that we live
today and throughout history. From transporting goods
to going on holiday, we need ground transport to get
from one destination to another destination. It is a
transportation that is over land instead of on water or in
the air
LAND TRANSPORTATION
Road and Rail transportation are the two main
components of land/ground transportation. It is used
every single day in different ways and has been
throughout the years. It continues to change and adapt
as technologies and industry change. It is now
independent of humans, thanks to revolutions of
industry and invention.

Rail transport is an important part of our
transport system and is an important method
of ground transport. From the steam train to
electric trams and luxury trains, there are many
different types of trains.

Rail Transportation - Transferring of


passengers and goods on wheeled vehicles
running on rails, also known as tracks. It is also
referred to as train transport.
ADVANTAGES OF RAIL TRANSPORT
There are many advantages of rail transport, which is
why it is used frequently as a method of transport
around the world.

MONORAIL
usually elevated from the
streets, the monorail runs on a
single track of passengers. It is
also placed in large theme parks
to assist tourists in seeing the
different attractions.
HERITAGE TRAINS
these are historic vehicles
designed for tourists.

1. Rise of Megacities - According to the “Failure of Rail:
2050,” the increasing number of people living in the city
will require a more efficient train system. The train
journey is predicted to be faster, greener, with seamless
links to other modes of transport.
2. Virtual Shopping Walls in Train Stations - In 2011,
Homeplus in Seoul, Korea, opened the first evervisual
supermarkets. these were set up on the Seonreung
subway station. To order from over 500 products on
display, Smartphone users scan the QR code.
