HYPERLOOP TRAN

CARS,TRAINS,PLANES,SHIPS WHAT’S NEXT?

What is hyperloop?
The Hyperloop is a new way to move people or
things anywhere in the world quickly, safely,
efficiently, on-demand and with minimal
impact to the environment.
Pod travels in speed of 1200kmph

Under principle of magnetic levitation
in low pressure vaccum tube.
HYPERLOOP TRANSIT

WHY?
Intend is to integrate with cities existing transport infrastructure.
Design of the architecture transforms the site into dynamic urban hub and
it will be active almost 12hrs a day.

An existing city does not need be a node for expansion zone.planning

should contain a standalone node.
HYPERLOOP TRANSIT
AIM
• Designing a space which will be node for the development of
suburban areas. It will acts as a catalyst for surrounding areas to
develop.

• In our country 20-30% land is transportation. It is necessary to

design the pubic facility to process and handle the flow of
passengers with good efficiency.

• Terminal building intent not only for national and international

visitors but also for local people to celebrate that space.
HYPERLOOP TRANSIT

Terminals are the major gateway and entrance for the city.It should be symbol of the city and
also extension of urban space.
Architectural Vision of design

world class space For growth of People celebration

Public space
IN HISTORY… HYPERLOOP TRANSIT
Transportation structure have traditionaly been great buildings with large amount
of public amenities over period of time.

For eg.Chennai central station being a symbol of city, it also had a large amount
of gathering space with commercial hub which is present day moore market.

It was the node for development of that particular area.Due to rapid urbanisation
public space disappeared.we almost forgotten the distinction between public and
private space.
Scope of design
• Analyse the movement of people in providing new dynamic space in pedestrian
and vehicular circulation.
• To study people oriented architecture in designing gathering space and squares.
• To induce a commercial development.opportunity provided for neighbourhood to
develop in future.
• To design an urban destination space with both terminal and public facility
including urban park, square, events space for local people.
• Design should reflect the character, life style and background of the city.
HYPERLOOP TRANSIT
Clear awareness of importance and value of the urban space should be retained for
the vision of future.

Terminal building also serves as a large urban public facility housing a number of

public amenities including exhibition and events, retail and cultural venues galleries
and gathering places.

Problems in commute
• New towns and extensions are being built in the western model, requiring long
commutes which the poor people struggle to afford.
• People choose to live close to work because long-distance commuting is
expensive and impacts their ability to earn.
• Because of these reasons land value inside the city grows higher in cities.

Hyperloop reduce carbon emissions, enhance social inclusion, and

improve the quality of life for people in cities.
Multimodal Transit
When more than one mode is involved, each mode provides
“access” to the next in a chain connect the term ‘multimodal’ is
used to represent the system with more than one mode, and the
term ‘intermodal’ to represent the connection between any two of
these elements. thing an origin to a destination.
Chennai to Bangalore
Indian train no of passengers
• Many trains have 24 carriages,
• 1 x First Class air con = 22
1 x 2-tier air con = 46
4 x 3-tier air con = 256 (64 per carriage)
14 x Sleeper Class = 988 (72 per carriage)
3 x unreserved 2nd class = 600 (not too much of an exageration)
1 x brake van.

You could also add RAC passengers to that train.

Some trains have 26 carriages.
