Title: CODE BLUE - A Hospital Emergency
Narrator: [In the hospital Emergency Department, the
hustle and bustle of nurses and doctors can be heard as
they attend to patients. The sounds of medical equipment
beeping fill the air. A group of medical professionals is
gathered around a patient's bed including Nurse Micha
and Doctor Annalyn. Mr. Miller, a 50-year-old male, is the
patient. His heart rate and blood pressure are showing
signs of decline, putting him at risk of experiencing
cardiac arrest.
Narrator: Nurse Micha urgently says,
NURSE: We need help here! Patient in room 302, vital
signs dropping fast!
Narrator: Doctor Annalyn, rushing over to the patient’s
room, asks the nurse,
DOCTOR: What's the situation?
Narrator: While handing over the chart, nurse micha
replied,
NURSE: Patient went into cardiac arrest. No pulse, no
breathing. We need to start CPR.
Narrator: [Nurse micha immediately pushed the code
blue button and doctor annalyn agrees]
DOCTOR: [Nods] Okay, let's initiate CPR. I am going to
get the defibrillator ready.
Narrator: [Nurse micha begins chest compressions while
the doctor prepares the defibrillator. The room fills with
tension as they work to revive the patient. And the code
blue alarm blares throughout the hospital.]
*plays code blue audio*
ANNOUNCER: Code Blue, Emergency Room, Room 302.
Code Blue, Emergency Room, Room 302.
Narrator: [More medical staff rush into the room,
bringing additional equipment and support. While
Doctor Annalyn starts to deliver shocks]
DOCTOR: Charge to 200 joules. Clear!
*patient’s body reacts to the shock
Narrator: [The doctor administers the shock, but there's
no response from the patient’s monitor. The team
continues their efforts, rotating through chest
compressions, administering medications, and delivering
shocks.]
Narrator: Nurse micha frantically says,
NURSE: We're losing him!
Narrator: Doctor Annalyn, determined to revive the
patient, says,
DOCTOR: Keep going! We're not giving up!
Narrator: [After several intense minutes, the patient's
monitor begins to beep, indicating a return of
spontaneous circulation.]
GEOFF: “beep…beep…beep”
Narrator: Relieved, Doctor Annalyn says,
DOCTOR: We've got a pulse! Let's stabilize him and get
him to the ICU.
Narrator: Exhausted, Nurse Micha says,
NURSE: [Exhales] That was intense.
Narrator: Doctor Annalyn agrees,
DOCTOR: [Nods] But we saved him. That's what matters.
Narrator: [The medical team exchanges nods and
exhausted smiles, knowing they've just been through a
life-saving situation.]
