I. Reading Comprehension.
The swing
Ria and Dia were best friends. They enjoyed playing
together. One day, they went to the park to play. It was
a beautiful evening. They were enjoying the gentle
breeze and walking around the park.
Suddenly, they heard a loud cry of a girl. They rushed
towards the play area and saw a pretty little girl on the
swing being pushed by a naughty little boy.

The louder she cried, the harder he pushed the swing. The little girl had turned white with
fright. As soon Ria got there, she immediately asked the mischievous boy to stop. She
went behind the swing and caught hold of him while Dia helped the girl get off the swing.
The little girl’s name was Maya. The naughty boy was her friend, Bobby. He loved to
tease and bully little children. Maya thanked Ria and Dia for helping her. The girls walked
both the children home. They told Maya’s mother all about the incident. Bobby’s mother
was there too. She apologized for Bobby’s behaviour. She was so upset with Bobby that
he was kept indoors for a week and not allowed to play with his friends!
