I. Lecture/ Seminar Conducted
As we arrived in the location, we went to Creotec
building, it is where the orientation and seminar
happened. Engr. Cris Tingcang and Engr. Maverick served as our tour guide. Engr. Cris was the one who oriented us about EMS and Creotec providing us some basic knowledge and information about the company in the conference room. A video presentation was played in a projector showcasing the different services and products that EMS was offering and also how the Creotec Company trained talented and skillful individuals who have won numerous awards not just in the local but also in the international competitions.
II. Company/Plant Tour
Moreover, we’ve been group into 3 for our plan tour, some of the students who took on-the-job training at Creotec led us the way to EMS building. In the EMS building, Engr. Maverick gave us a short briefing about the company history on how it was built and started. He also introduced the successful personalities behind their successful company. Francisco I. Ferrer, also known as “Tatang” is the founder of EMS Components Assembly Inc. Engr. Maverick Bernardino explained to us how Tatang started building EMS, and which company helped him to make EMS bigger and better. His son Peter A. Ferrer is the founder of Alliance Mansols INC., who later on became the President of the EMS Group as his father passed away on the year 2018. Engr. Maverick also shown the company’s improvements year by year until on its ongoing progress.
After informing us the company history, the student
trainee led us into the next area which is the production and operation line. The production line was located to another building which is the EMS Components Assembly Inc., building. The student personally visited the production and operation of the company’s product. In connection with this, we saw how the product is made and produce where it was gone through several process one by one. Before entering the production area the students were required to wear a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to avoid chemical reactions from the body to the sensitive components of the products. The students were able to saw the huge and advanced machines that make PCBs and hard drive for computers, these machines could produce thousands of PCBs within a day. All the employees inside the production room have allocated to different tasks and they are not allowed to change from one to another work unless they had an approval and papers to do so. Each machine is operated by an employee to check whether the PCBs produced by the machines are good or no good. If the product was no good the employee will manually desoldering the defected area and also soldered it.
