INTRODUCTION

Best teachers are those who do not stop learning. Learning is not
only about what we learn through books, it is also about what
we learn by our surroundings, and our friends, juniors,
seniors, colleagues etc. peer learning the similar act where we
learn through our colleagues,
to observe them or to ask them. Learn some new and innovative
ideas to teach students.

WHO IS TEACHING? WHO IS LEARNING?
PROFESSIONAL LEARNING
COMMUNITIES
A professional learning community, or PLC, is a
group of educators that meets regularly, shares
expertise, and works collaboratively to improve
teaching skills and the academic performance of
students.
Lev Vygotsky
Vygotsky talks about zone of proximal proximal
development. His idea of ZPD is the difference between
what a learner can do independently and what they can
do with the help of a more knowledgeable person, such
as a peer or teacher. In the context of peer
observation, this suggests that observing a peer's
teaching practices can provide valuable insights and
support for professional growth.

Process
Pre-observation
You have to decide which peer you want to observe. Making a list of
class schedules of the peers, topics that will be observed, your time etc
things kept in mind before the classroom observation.

During observation
you may go single or in pair to observe the classes.
In the classroom observation phase one will write whatever happened in the
classroom, what topic covered, students responses, teacher's response, students
behavior in classroom in presence of the teacher.
.

Post observation
After the classroom observation, next phase is the post observation debrief which should be as soon
as possible. The observer shares what s/he observed in his/her classroom. Also what s/he learns
from your class and what are the possible suggestions to improve the teaching learning process, how
students behave in classroom when s/he wrote on blackboard.
Observer reflects observations in relevance to their own practices.
Strengths &
Weakness

1. Different perspectives 1. Subjective biasness

2. Constructive feedback 2. Time consuming
3. Trust and support. 3. Misunderstanding
4. Professional development 4. Distraction
5. Promote collaboration 5. Requires careful preparation
