PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY & MATHEMATICS
(PAPER-2)
INSTRUCTIONS
A. General
1. Read all instructions carefully. Check total pages and no. of questions of your booklet in each subject.
2. Write your Name, Enrolment number, Examination Centre, Question paper code, Batch code, Examination
session in the boxes provided for STUDENT INFORMATION.
3. Darken the appropriate bubble under each digit of enrolment number, question paper code written by you on
the OMR sheet.
B. Question Paper Format
The question paper consists of three parts (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). Each part consists of
three sections.
4. Section – 1 contains 7 multiple choice questions. Each question has four choices (A), (B), (C) and (D) out
of which ONE is correct.
5. Section – 2 contains 7 multiple choice questions. Each question has four choices (A), (B), (C) and (D) out
of which ONE OR MORE THAN ONE are correct.
6. Section – 3 contains 2 paragraphs each describing theory, experiment and data etc. Four questions relate
to two paragraphs with two questions on each paragraph. Each question pertaining to a particular passage
should have ONLY is correct answer among the four given choices (A), (B), (C) and (D).
C. Marking Scheme
7. For each question in Section – 1 you will be awarded 3 marks if you darken only the bubble corresponding to
the correct answer and zero mark if no bubble is darkened. In all other cases, minus one (1) mark will be
awarded.
8. For each question in Section – 2, you will be 4 marks if you darken only the bubble(s) corresponding to all
the correct option(s) is(are) darkened.
Partial Marks : +1 For darkening a bubble corresponding to each correct option, provided NO
incorrect option is darkened.
Zero Marks : 0 If none of the bubbles is darkened.
Negative Marks : –2 In all other cases.
For example, if [A], [C] and [D] are all the correct options for a question, darkening all these three will get
+4 marks; darkening only [A] and [D] will get +2 marks; and darkening [A] and [B] will get 2 marks, as a
wrong option is also darkened.
9. For each question in Section – 3, you will be awarded 3 marks if you darken only the bubble corresponding
to the correct answer and zero mark if no bubble is darkened. No negative marks will be awarded from
incorrect answer in this section.

Eliminating z from first and second and then from second and third, we get
4x 2y = 7, 4x 2y = 1, which leads to 0x + 0y = 6
Similarly, eliminating y, we get
6x 2z = 9, 6x 2z = 15, which leads to 0x + 0z = 6.
No, finite values of x, y and z satisfy all, but the obtained equations are limiting form of
x y x z
6, 6 , as k tends to infinity.

So, three planes intersect at an infinite distance.
Let first two planes intersect in a line whose direction cosines are proportional to , m, n then
2 4m 2n 0 and 5 m n 0 , from which we get
m n x y z
. So, lines of intersection of any two of the planes are parallel to the line .
