How to Guide

Professional Diploma in Project Management Assessments

The Professional Diploma Project Management is awarded through a combination of


an assignment and an in-class exam. Students must complete a Project Assignment
called a “Portfolio of Work” which represents 75% of total marks and a Skills
Demonstration made up of an exam covering 10 key areas represents 25% of total
marks.
The project must be submitted on or before the deadline date. Late submissions will
not be accepted.

Exam 25%
A 60 minute test comprising of 50 multiple choice questions will demonstrate your
knowledge of Project Management theory and processes covering all of the following
areas:
1. Project Fundamentals
2. Project Environments
3. Role of the Project Manager
4. Project Scope
5. Project Schedule
6. Project Cost
7. Project Resources
8. Project Communications
9. Project Risk
10. Project Stakeholder Management

Portfolio of Work - Project: 75%


A Portfolio of Work is a collection of applied knowledge reflecting the key learning
outcomes. The minimum word count for the project is 3,000 words.

Prepare a Project Management plan based on a project you are involved in through
Work or Life Experience or choose from one of the suggested list below:

Feedback and Results
Feedback and your grade will be provided within 8 weeks of submission and this
information will be available online where you access your course notes.

Submitting the Portfolio of Work:


Formatting for assignments, unless otherwise specified, is to be typed using a 12-point
font and 1.5 line of spacing. Grammar, punctuation, style and overall presentation are
included in the overall mark for the course. It must include a cover sheet providing:

● Student’s Name
● Full Course Title
● Due Date of the Portfolio of Work

An index must be included as the second page, detailing sections and page numbers
for each individual piece of the Portfolio of Work e.g Executive Summary Introduction,
Scope Management etc. Section dividers may also be used within the Portfolio of
Work.
