3
Introduction
The electronic circuits are used in almost every device in our daily lives: in the
appliances we use in our homes, in the vehicles, in the cell phones we use to
communicate, in the medical equipment we need to care for our health, in the
computers, and in the audio and video systems, the radio and TV sets

4
Introduction
Signals contain information about a variety of things and activities in our
physical world.

EXAMPLE 2 Find the current passes in each branch for the
circuit of Figure shown.

Loop 1: 𝟒𝑰𝟏 + 𝟔(𝑰𝟏 − 𝑰𝟐 ) = 𝟏𝟎

Loop 1: 𝟏𝟎𝑰𝟏 − 𝟔𝑰𝟐 = 𝟏𝟎

Loop 2: 𝑰𝟐 = −𝟓
𝟏𝟎𝑰𝟏 − 𝟔(−𝟓) = 𝟏𝟎

𝟏𝟎 − 𝟑𝟎
𝑰𝟏 = = −𝟐 𝑨
𝟏𝟎

Kirchhoff's Laws
EXAMPLE 3 Find the current through the 10 Ω resistor for the
circuit of Figure shown.

Loop 1: 𝟑(𝑰𝟏 − 𝑰𝟐 ) + 𝟖(𝑰𝟏 − 𝑰𝟑 ) = 𝟏𝟓

Loop 1: 𝟏𝟏𝑰𝟏 − 𝟑𝑰𝟐 − 𝟖𝑰𝟑 = 𝟏𝟓
Loop 2: 𝟑 𝑰𝟐 − 𝑰𝟏 + 𝟓 𝑰𝟐 − 𝑰𝟑 + 𝟐𝑰𝟐 = 𝟎

Loop 2: −𝟑𝑰𝟏 + 𝟏𝟎𝑰𝟐 − 𝟓𝑰𝟑 = 𝟎

Loop 3: 𝟖(𝑰𝟑 − 𝑰𝟏 ) + 𝟏𝟎𝑰𝟑 + 𝟓(𝑰𝟑 − 𝑰𝟐 ) = 𝟎

Loop 3: −𝟖𝑰𝟏 − 𝟓𝑰𝟐 + 𝟐𝟑𝑰𝟑 = 𝟎

∴ 𝑰𝟑 = 𝑰𝟏𝟎Ω = 𝟏. 𝟐𝟐 𝑨
