Description and Operation

TASK 63-49-15-870-801-A01
1. Description and Operation
A. Description
(1) Purpose
This pressure transmitter is an inductor type instrument used in conjunction with a ratiometer-
type indicator to provide remote indication of the pressure in a oil system.
(2) Identification - Modification State
(a) The identification plate gives this data:
- Manufacturer’s name.
- Designation of the equipment.
- Customer code.
- Date of manufacture (Date).
- Part Number of the equipment (P/N).
- Serial Number of the equipment (S/N).
- Inspection stamp.
(b) Changes to the equipment are shown as follows:
- For important changes (referred to as "Modifications"), a numeral is added at the end
of the Part Number. This numeral is increased at each subsequent modification to the
equipment.
- For less important changes (referred to as "Amendments"), an upper-case letter is
written on a different label (referred to as the "Amendment Label").

(3) Technical Data
(a) Dimensions: Refer to Figure 1 / 63-49-15-991-011-A01.
(b) Weight: 220 g +/- 3%.
(c) Temperatures ranges:
- Normal operating: - 40°C to + 150°C.
- Max. operating: - 55°C to + 200°C.
(d) Pressure ranges:
- Operating range: 0 to 10 hPa.
- Maximum overload: 16 hPa.
B. Operation
The pressure transmitter consists essentially of a manometric capsule which deflects in response to
pressure variations, thus causing a proportional movement of a core acting on two magnetic
circuits.
The core is set so that when the reluctance of one circuit increases, that of the other decreases.
Variations in the reluctance of the magnetic circuits cause changes in the impedance of the induction
coils housed in the magnetic circuits; when the pressure increases, the impedance increases
across receptacle pins 1 and 2 and decreases across receptacle pins 2 and 3.

Testing

TASK 63-49-15-700-801-A01
1. Testing
A. General
(1) Special Tools, Fixtures and Equipment
(a) In addition to the standard tool kit, special tools will be necessary for some operations.
These tools will be either locally manufactured or supplied by the manufacturer.
(b) The locally-manufactured tools and special tools supplied by the manufacturer are
illustrated and listed in the "SPECIAL TOOLS, FIXTURES, EQUIPMENT AND
CONSUMABLE" section.
(2) Test conditions:
Unless stated differently in some tests, the test of the equipment is done in the following
conditions:
- Temperature: 20 °C +/- 5 °C.
- Test position: Not significant.
(3) Connection: Refer to Figure 2 / 63-49-15-991-101-A01
B. Procedure
(1) Insulation resistance
- With 45 VDC applied, the insulation resistance between the receptacle pins connected
together and the case (ground) should be greater than or equal to 20 Mohms.
(2) Accuracy test
- Switch on the 28 VDC power supply.
- Gradually vary the pressure in increasing then decreasing values so as to set the digital
voltmeter to each of the values given in table.
- At each setting, the difference between the pressure read on the pressure gage and the
corresponding theoretical value should not exceed +/- 200 hPa.
