Introduction
This report is based on the learning styles and techniques where first the learning styles in the
VARK model will be presented. Then, I will provide a reflection where I will explain the
learning styles use for my better understanding. In the end, I will explain the learning techniques
that will help me to remember the study better.
1. Discuss the four learning styles included in the VARK Model
VARK model is one of the best models that describes the four types of learners in the process of
learning. Here are the four learning styles presented below:

Figure: VARK model (Farruxovna, et al, 2021)

Visual: This is the learning style where learning is done by viewing various materials including
presentations, images, written instructions, and others. These are mainly for the fast sessions and
students are impatient. The students will see the features where they will learn through
visualising those (Cardino, et al, 2020).

Auditory: The students learn through hearing in the learning style where the listening
instructions and discussion in the learning process. The students will remember the facts through
verbal repetition. The studies are learnt through various tones, speed, and pitch where various
audio recording is a vital option. These are mainly for the slow learning session where students
listen and learn through mainly verbalising (Vakilifard, et al, 2021).

Reading/Writing: Mostly written and handouts are used in this learning style where the students
learn by reading those and writing or rewriting them. The students are suggested for more
reading than writing in this style. This is mainly for the students who enjoy reading and writing
where the students bring both inputs and outputs based on reading and writing (Naj'iyah, et al,
2021).

Kinesthetics: This is the learning style where the students are directed through demonstrating
the skills. The students are physically included in this kind of learning style. The students
remember the facts through exercising and doing. This is a combined effort of using multimedia,
encouraging movement, tactile activities, and redoing in the learning process (Alhaysony, 2017).
2. Personal experience: Describe your learning style/ styles and any
learning techniques you will use to help you study better
My Learning Styles

I depend on more visual, reading and kinesthetic learning styles where I learn better on my
academic life and skill development. I use visual and reading techniques more for academic
learning whereas kinesthetics is more used for the skill development for both professional and
academic life. I always focus on goal-oriented learning where I set the goal of my learning in a
subject in my academic life. The goals are attained through reading first where I read various
books and articles for better understanding. I also read the instructions properly in the book for
better learning the subject. For making deep understanding, I use visualisation where I watch
various videos, images, and presentation slides. This brings up the proper memorisation where I
have seen the facts practically. Then, for skills, I go for practising the facts where later I redo it
in the practical life to make it more proficient and successful (Cardino, et al, 2020).

Various Learning Styles

There are several techniques for learning better where I can do better. Here are those presented
below:

The SQ3R Technique

This technique is focused on five steps where I can note all the important facts and note
information from a book. This technique is also known as the SQRRR technique where first a
survey on the book through running over the introduction and summary is gained and then,
questions are formed. Then those are read, recited, and reviewed (Nikoopour, et al, 2021).

Retrieval Technique

This is the technique based on recalling or retrieving the information that was read. In this
technique, I will write down or read the concept to remember and then after some time, I will try
to recall it. I will more engage in the practice test and quizzes where I will also make my
questions. I can also do this with flashcards (Naj'iyah, et al, 2021).

Spaced Practice

This technique is also known as the distributed technique where I will focus on a longer period in
the total process of learning. I will cram with a longer period where with better practice I will
gain the best memory. The bigger space among the remembering or studying options will make
the brain work hard and this will make the brain memorise better in the study. For example, I
will learn it in class and then on days two and three, I will reread and revisit the study. Then I
will revisit and reread after one and two weeks (Widharyanto, et al, 2021).

The Feynman Technique

This technique uses simpler terms where the study can be learnt better and, in a time-efficient
way. This can be said the technique features that understanding can be better when the words are
simple. Here I will note all the descriptions and concepts in such words that are very basic to me
and anyone can understand those easily (Farruxovna, et al, 2021).
Conclusion
It can be said that a proper learning style based on the needs of the students can bring up the best
outcomes where the students can learn better. I can develop more using the techniques more
properly based on my study and the learning styles I follow.
