Statement of the Problem

Generally, this study aims to explore and understand the lived experiences, perceptions, and

meanings attributed to the Tadug (wedding agreement) within the Isnag ethnic community of Apayao

from a phenomenological perspective.

Specifically, it seeks to answer the following questions:

1. What is the perception of the individuals within the Isnag ethnic on their lived experiences on

“tadug” as a wedding custom?

2. What are the key elements and rituals that comprise the “tadug” and its embedded meanings, as

understood and interpreted by the participants?

3. What are the key functions and roles of the Tadug wedding custom within the ethnic community

of Isnag, particularly in relation to community dynamics and cultural significance?

4. How has the Tadug custom evolved over time, reflecting changes in this cultural practice?
