ORAL PRESENTATION 2023-2024

TOPIC: Talking about a foreign language.

TASK: You have to do an oral presentation of about 2-3 minutes about the given topic.
You can do it in the class or make a video.

- You can use some support material like a powerpoint / canva/ some notes. You are not allowed to read.

- You can use short videos showing people speaking the language you’ve chosen (the video is not included
in the presentation time)

- You can say some words/ expressions/ phrases in that language

You can mention the following:

- Country/Part of the world where the language is spoken
- Type of language (national/official/regional) language
- Number of speakers in the world / the country
- Influence of other languages
- Its origin (place/date)
- The kind of alphabet (Latin / Arabic / Cyrillic / Hebrew…); number o letters, ...
- Is the language similar to any other language?
- Interesting facts about it
ex: - words from other languages (the Portuguese word “oxalá” has its origin in the Arabic phrase "'in sha' allh" ); the Japanese
word “koppu “ comes from the Portuguese word “copo”);
- the shortest/ longest word; - the most common words / names; - dialects and accents;
