Failure to switch the turn indicators on or off at the right time may cause an accident in that

Under normal conditions, do not use this switch to shut off the engine.
CAUTION
To avoid damaging the electrical equipment, be sure not to hold down the button for longer
than 5 consecutive seconds.
If, after some attempts, the engine does not start, refer to the chapter “TROUBLESHOOT-
ING” later in this manual.
NOTE
This function must remain active only for a short time depending on the engine and environ-
mental temperature. As soon as the idle speed keeps the engine running, it is advisable to disa-
ble the control.

Turn the handlebar to the left or right. Press the key in
gently while rotating it to the LOCK position.
All electrical circuits are deactivated and the steering is
locked. The key can be removed.
P (PARKING) position
Turn the key from the LOCK position to the P position.
All electrical circuits are deactivated except the parking
lights. The steering is locked. The key can be removed.
CAUTION
Do not leave the key on the P position for a
long time, in order to avoid discharging the
battery of your motorcycle.

The high temperatures caused by the use of the vehicle on race circuits could compromi-
se the efficiency of the catalytic converter and of the exhaust system; therefore, we sug-
gest assembling a special exhaust system when using the vehicle on race circuits.

advisable not to exceed the engine speed shown in the

• Avoid warming up the engine while the vehi-

parts of the engine. It is advisable to bring the
engine to the working temperature by riding
at reduced speed.
• To ensure the maximum life of the engine,
never speed up at full throttle when the engi-
ne is cold.

The instrument panel has an integrated memory
which retains all the parameters even when the engi-
ne is not running. Except for the clock, which is

battery is disconnected.

4.5. Refuelling
WARNING
Petrol and its fumes are highly toxic and flam-
mable. Avoid contact and inhalation.
When refuelling, switch off the engine, avoid
smoking, and keep away from flames, sparks
and heat sources. Perform refuelling in the
open air or in a well ventilated area.

Only use unleaded fuel with a R.O.N. octane
rating of 95 or higher. The green dot on the
lower side of the tank cap and the steering
damper label upon the fuel tank serve as a
reminder of this.

WARNING
Overfilling the tank may cause the fuel to overflow as a result of the expansion due to the
heat from the engine or to exposure to sunlight. Fuel spills can catch fire. The level of the
fuel in the tank must never be higher than the base of the filler.
CAUTION

I Per l’utilizzo del veicolo in pista od in circuito chiuso al traffico, MV Agusta consiglia di eseguire una particolare regolazione dell’assetto.
ATTENZIONE! Tale intervento deve essere tassativamente eseguito da un concessionario ufficiale MV Agusta. Fig.1
Le seguenti regolazioni devono essere effettuate con il serbatoio benzina pieno.
Per la corretta esecuzione dell’intervento occorre utilizzare i seguenti attrezzi:
● Cavalletto posteriore part. cod. 800092642
● Asta settaggio sospensione posteriore part. cod. 800093347
1. Posizionare il veicolo sul cavalletto posteriore ed inserire l’asta di settaggio della sospensione nelle apposite sedi (vedi Fig. 1).
2. Accertarsi che in condizione di “tutto esteso” si abbia una quota “ X “ pari ad un valore minimo di 222 mm (vedi Fig. 2).
3. Aumentare il precarico molla dell’ammortizzatore posteriore di 1 giro rispetto alla configurazione standard (su strada).
4. Eseguire la variazione dell’assetto statico della motocicletta intervenendo sulla quota “ X “ (vedi Fig. 2 e Tab.1).

5. Ripristinare il corretto valore della tensione catena intervenendo sulla quota “ h “ (vedi Fig. 3 e Tab.1). N.B.: I valori di “ h ” sono

The following adjustments must be performed with the fuel tank full.
To correctly perform this operation, use the following tools:
● Rear stand part code no. 800092642
● Rear suspension setting rod part code no. 800093347
1. Place the vehicle on the rear stand and insert the rear suspension setting rod in its proper seats (see Fig. 1).
2. Make sure that in the “fully extended” position you have a “ X “ dimension equal to a minimum value of 222 mm (see Fig. 2). Fig.2 Fig.3
3. Increase the rear suspension spring preload of 1 turn with reference to the standard (on road) configuration.
4. Adjust the static setup of the motorcycle by changing the “ X “ dimension (see Fig. 2 and Tab.1).
5. Restore the correct value of the drive chain adjustment by changing the “ h “ dimension (see Fig. 3 and Tab.1). N.B.: The values of
the “ h ” dimension refer to a vehicle with Z15 front sprocket, Z40 rear sprocket and a genuine MV Agusta drive chain.

1. Positionner le véhicule sur la béquille arrière et mettre en place la tige de réglage de la suspension dans les sièges prévus (voir Fig. 1).
2. Assurez-vous que dans la position “plein-prolongée” vous avez une dimension de " X " égale à une valeur minimum de 222 mm (vedi Fig. 2).
3. Augmenter la précharge de ressort de la suspension arrière de 1 tour concernant la configuration standard (sur route).
4. Ajustez l'assiette statique de la moto en changeant la dimension de “ X “ (voir Fig. 2 et Tab.1).
5. Rétablir la tension correcte de la chaîne en changeant la dimension de “ h “ (voir Fig. 3 et Tab.1). N.B.: On obtient les valeurs de la
cote “ h ” avec le pignon Z15, couronne Z40 et en utilisant la chaîne de transmission originale.
