At the end of the lesson, you will identify the different factors influencing
motivation through a 3-item quiz.

Factors Influencing Motivation in Sports
1. Intrinsic Motivation
*Passion for Sports-Genuine love and enjoyment of the sport
*Personal Achievement- The desire to improve skills and achieve individual goal,
self-discipline
* Sense of Purpose- tied with personal values, and deep sense of personal
meaning. Believers are motivated by the values and principles derived from their
faith. They are more likely to persevere through challenges and setbacks.
2. Extrinsic Motivation
* Tangible rewards-such as medals , trophies or financial incentives,
* Recognition and Fame-the desire for public recognition
1. * Social Support- Athletes who receive support and encouragement from their
peers, family, and even government are more likely to stay motivated and
committed to their sport.

Activity:Survey
Distribute the survey form with a list of factors influencing motivation in sports.
Ask the students to read through the list and rate the factors that they believe are
the most important with 7 points and the least important with 1 point . After
rating the teacher will gather the results and the students will add up the points in
each factor. After that, they will rank the factors based on the result.
