Facts about wild cats


1 Read the text about tigers and complete the fact file.

Tigers
Tigers live in Asia in countries like India and Indonesia. There
are only about 3,890 tigers left in the wild. The main reason
tigers are disappearing is because of hunting and loss of
habitat. Tigers live for about 16 years. They eat only meat –
deer, pigs and sometimes even crocodiles! Tigers weigh about
300 kg and grow to about three metres in length.
They are fast runners, but not as fast as cheetahs. Their top
speed is 65 kilometres an hour. They are also good at swimming
and can swim about 7 kilometres.
