Tips To Ace Online Interviews –Hardware/Software
Requirements For Virtual Drive (VD)

• Determine the best hardware to use:


If you have multiple peripherals (such as computer, tablet, and smart phone,
etc), most preferably computer, choose the one you are most comfortable with.
• Select the proper location for the Interview
The best scenario for your Interview location is a confined room in which you
can manage the noise, control the lighting, and display a generic background.
• Test all the Technology
Test your connection. Test your camera. Test your lighting. Test your sound.
Test the video program. Make sure you understand how it all works. And test it
all again right before the interview commences.
• Plan for Glitches
Have a backup plan ready if something goes wrong the day of the interview.
For example: confirm with the interviewer, in advance of the interview, that
you'll switch to a phone call should technology or connection issues crop up.
• Complete full Interview preparations
Don't skimp on your interview preparation. Conduct research on the employer,

• Complete installation of Interview software
Make sure you install multiple software as per requirement of the company
such as Skype, Google meet etc.

Ensure the windows that you are using are updated.
• MS-Office
You must know how to work on MS-Powerpoint, MS-Office and
MS-Word.
• Camera and Headphones
Ensure that your camera is working properly and your headphones
are in proper working condition. Check them before sitting in the
drive.

• A Company Profile is an important document supplied by the TPP


department for every company that comes for the placement
drive.
• It is to be read thoroughly as it consists very important information.

All this information needs to be seen by the students before


sitting for the drive and then go through the company website
properly.
Going Through Previous Papers

TPP Trainers will be providing all the company specific content


which shall include: Verbal ability Questions, Aptitude Questions,
GD Topics and PI Questions.
Students need to go through them properly as the questions may
repeat.

Stage 1 Campus Placement - Short listing process

• Campus Placements/ Campus Recruitment drives are conducted in Chandigarh Group of Colleges,
Landran for providing job opportunities to the students who are pursuing their particular academic
courses. Campus Placements offer students a wonderful opportunity to get placed during the
course of their academic pursuits, and provide them the comfort of a safe and secure future.
Keeping in mind the importance of the campus placement programs, it is vital for a student to
prepare adequately for these programs and make sure that they put their best foot forward.
• Short listing is the process of identifying the candidates from your applicant pool who best meet the
required and desired criteria.

Short listing Step-By-Step Guide for Candidate Recruitment

• Step 1 – Company – The eligibility criteria for the candidates is specified by recruiters of
top notch companies recruiters who visit the campus for placements or conduct virtual
placement drives.
• Step 2 – The CRC department will generate the list of the students who all are eligible
for the placements in specific companies. Only those students will get the invitation for
the placement drives whose eligibility matches with the eligibility criteria of the company.
List of Eligibility criteria for shortlisting:

1. TPP (Training Placement Programme) registered students – Only TPP registered studentsare eligible
for Campus Placements.

2. Education/academic achievements –Every company has specific cut off requirement in academics
in 10th, 12th, Graduation & Masters (If pursuing Master’s Degree). In most of the companies
eligibility criteria can varyfrom(60%/70%/80%/8 SGPA/7CGPA). The students should try to score
maximum marks for their eligibility in majority of top notch companies.

3. Academic performance & record – Academic record of the candidateshould be without back logs.
Some companies strictly mention that only students with clear academic record are only eligible for the
placements.

4. TPP (Training Placement Programme) Detention status - To be eligible for placements, students must
maintain minimum required attendance in all the TPP lectures (Verbal/Aptitude/Technical/Advance
Learning) else they get permanently debarred from TPP which further results in non eligibility in
placement drives.
5. AMCAT (Aspiring Minds Computer Adaptive Test) Test Score –AMCAT (Aspiring
Minds Computer Adaptive Test) is an AI-based computer adaptive test which evaluates
job applicants on critical areas like communication skills, logical reasoning, quantitative
skills, and job-specific domain skills thus helping recruiters identify the suitability of a
candidate for different job roles.. It is very important eligibility criteria for the companies.
Students with high score in AMCAT test in maximum modules are only eligible in
maximum companies.
6. Gender factor – The maximum numbers of companies have no bar in gender
specification. Still there are some companies where either the job offer is only for
Female candidates or Male candidates.
7. Technical Skills – Different companies have different services, Industry & products.
Companies want Technical expertise in candidate according to their requirements.
8. Adaptive & Flexible - Maximum companies would offer relocation. The candidate
needs to be flexible and adaptive to avail the offer.
9. Required Education qualification - Educational qualifications refers to the official
confirmation, usually in the form of a certificate, diploma or degree, certifying the
successful completion of an education program or a stage of a program. Different job
position demands different education qualification. Different companies will offer
different job positions and different job position would require different education
qualification (Bachelors or Masters).
Stage 2 Database Preparation
• It is always important to provide correct data for timely and
important communication. Every company requires some data
from the candidates who have applied for the job in their
company.The students have to ensure that they share all
important and accurate data with CRC department prior to their
placements. This data is further shared with companies for
short listing and for the future references.

Stage 3 Online Test
• Online Placement Test forjob seekers is the test which is conducted to evaluate basic aptitude,
verbal and technical skillsin the campus placements. These tests cover questions asked by major
IT companies like Capgemini, TCS, Wipro, CTS, IBM,Microsoft ,Amazon, Birlasoft etc.

• Basic Test Requirements:-

1. A working laptop, desktop or official computer with sufficient screen size.


2. Please make sure that you power charge your phone and laptop so that there is uninterrupted
power supply.
3. High speed internet connectivity which should be of high speed above 512 kbps. In case you are
using a hotspot from your mobile phone then keep it out of the sight of the camera.
4. Internet connection should be uninterrupted in case if you are using a Wi-Fi modem and hotspot.
5. Battery back-up of your internet service (Wi-Fi) should be secured.

6. Do not open any other browser.


7. Don’t press the refresh button.
8. Instead of using public Wi-Fi connection, usage of personal internet connection is
strongly advised.
9. Make sure there is no internet sharing.
10. Disable all internet sharing options including LAN sharing.
11. Web cam should be in working condition only. (Mandatory Requirement) Test will not be
conducted without its working.
Stage 4 /5: GD/PI
• Group Discussion may take place for 15 min to 45 minutes, as
per the choice of the panel.
• Personal Interviews can be one-on-one or a panel interview.
