WORD OF WELCOME
Elder Dearly beloved congregation, Good Afternoon.
On behalf of the Immanuel Church Council, we would
like to say “ Welcome” to all of you in English worship
service. Let us come into The Lord presence with
assurance, knowing that His love and grace is for
everyone fully.

LITURGY OF ENTRANCE
CALL TO WORSHIP (standing)
Elder Please rise!
O sing to the Lord a new song;
People sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Elder Sing, and give praise to God’s name;
People tell the glad news of salvation from day to day.

PROCESSIONAL HYMN
“The Day Thou Gavest” (KJ 328)
The day you gave us, Lord, is ended,
the darkness falls at your request;
to you our morning hymns ascended,
your praise shall sanctify our rest.

We thank you that your Church, unsleeping

while earth rolls onward into light,
through all the world her watch is keeping
and never rests by day or night.

(instrument - proccesional)

2
As over continent and island
each dawn leads to another day,
the voice of prayer is never silent,
nor do the praises die away.

So be it, Lord! Your throne shall never,

like earth’s proud empires, pass away;
your kingdom stands and grows forever
until there dawns your glorious day.

ADORATION
Pastor Our help is in the Name of The Lord, Who made
heaven and earth!
People (sung) A – men (KJ 476a)

OPENING SENTENCES
Pastor “you also, like living stones, are being built into a
spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering
spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus
Christ.” (1 Peter 2:5 NIV)

GREETING
Pastor The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all!
People And also with you.

HYMN
“Fairest Lord Jesus” (KJ 19)
Fairest Lord Jesus, ruler of all nature,
O thou of God and man the Son,
Thee will I cherish, Thee will I honor,
thou, my soul's glory, joy, and crown.

Fair is the sunshine, fairer still the moonlight,

and all the twinkling starry host:
Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer
than all the angels heaven can boast.
(seated)
3
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Elder If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves,
and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins,
God who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins
and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility
and faith let us confess our sin to God.
Eternal God, our judge and redeemer, we confess that
we have tried to hide from you, for we have done
wrong. We have lived for ourselves, and apart from
you. We have turned from our neighbors, and refused
to bear the burdens of others. We have ignored the
pain of the world, and passed by the hungry, the poor,
and the oppressed. In your great mercy forgive our
sins and free us from selfishness, that we may choose
your will and obey your commandments; through
Jesus Christ our Savior. Lord, have mercy!

CHANT
“Kyrie Eleison” (KJ 42)
Kyrie eleison! Christe eleison! Kyrie eleison!

ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Pastor Hear the good news!
“The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross,
that we might be dead to sin, and alive to all that is
good.” (1 Tim.1:15; 1 Peter 2:24)
I declare to you in the name of Jesus Christ, you are
forgiven.

People Thanks be to God! Amen.

4
HYMN
“In Christ Alone”

THE NEW LIFE MESSAGE

Pastor Please rise!
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly
loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness,
humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each
other and forgive one another if any of you has a
grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord
forgave you. And over all these virtues put on
love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”
—Colossians 3:12-14, NIV

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (standing)

Pastor Let us confess the faith of our baptism, as we say:
People I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord.
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come again to judge the living and the

everlasting.

For, be it great or small, that is His test.
Do then the best you can, not for reward,
Not for the praise of men, but for the Lord.
Refr. Every work for Jesus will be blest,
But He asks from everyone his best.
Our talents may be few, these may be small,
But unto Him is due our best, our all.

(instrumental – people give the offering)

Wait not for men to laud, heed not their slight;

Winning the smile of God brings its delight!
Aiding the good and true ne’er goes unblest,
All that we think or do, be it the best. Refr.

POSTLUDE

AriSiagian – 2023

LUKE 20
Contemporary English Version (CEV)

A Question about Jesus' Authority

1
One day, Jesus was teaching in the
temple and telling the good news. So the
chief priests, the teachers, and the nation's
leaders

2
asked him, “What right do you have to do
these things? Who gave you this
authority?”

3
Jesus replied, “I want to ask you a
question.

4
Who gave John the right to baptize?
Was it God in heaven or merely some
human being?”
