B. PRESENTATION OUTLINE

I. Introduction
I think most of you sitting here have at least one time thought about letting
your children learn music. But maybe you don’t know what kind of instrument
they learn? When should they start? And what are the benefits of learning
music early on children's development and experience?
Presenter:
 Mai, founder and piano teacher of Piano Home Center, MC of this
program.
 2 National Teachers from VN National Academy of Music, Pianist
Nguyen Thi Quynh and Pianist Nguyen Thuy Duong
The presentation will be divided into 2 parts:
 Current situation

 Benefits of learning piano at the young ages

The presentation will take about 30 minutes and we will have Q&A parts at
the end. Don’t worry about taking notes, I’ve put all important information on
a handout for you.

II. Development
1. Current situation:
 More and more children are allowed and able to play instruments early

 More and more clubs, program, competitions are held to encourage children to
live with music
 Many studies and research show the good impacts of playing music and
instruments on children’s life
 Tuition fee in Piano Home Centre
 4-10 years old: 2 - 4 million per course (3 months)
 > 10 years old: 4 - 6 million per course (3 months)
(depending on levels, type of classes: group or individual)

2. Benefits of learning piano at the young ages


a. Better tuition fee
Tuition fee for children under 10 years old is much cheaper than for older
children.
 Easier to learn new things especially music term
 Children’s hands are more flexible than adult

b. Helping children to have more experience and to be more confident


 Experience:
 Find out their interests
+ Extra curricular activities
+ Make new friend (piano classes, school’s clubs, music band)
 Open the door to being professional musicians.
+ Approach music early → increase time, experience for those having
ability
+ Piano: foundation to develop and start more complex things (playing with
orchestra, producing music, being music conductor)

 Powerful confidence booster:


 Perform in front of many people
+ Be much more confident.
 Piano can be played alone
+ Unlike violin, saxophone, flute... need to play with other instruments to be
the best possible
+ Best choice for who like the sense of being able to perform alone
anywhere
c. Improving their brain & mind-muscle connection
 Requiring reading, listening, and the movement of 2 hands at the same time
(multitasker)
+ Engage every main parts of brain
+ Improve mind-muscle connections
→ Good for children’s brain development
 Improving memory: remember long scores

d. Having good impacts on their mental health


 Relieving stress and anxious feeling, boosting mood
 Requiring emotion → tool to express emotion

 Summary: So here are some important information that I’ve summarized
for you.
