SUBJECT: Quick Release Clamp for Negative Battery Terminal

On Maserati Quattroporte from Assembly # 18324 and all Maserati Gran


Turismo, the negative battery terminal is fitted with a clamp for fast locking and
unlocking of the cable to the terminal.

This bulletin demonstrates the correct method of removing and fastening the locking
clamp of the negative battery cable to the negative battery terminal.

A. Removing the Negative Battery Terminal

1. Unlock the clamp lever.

2. Pull the clamp straight up from the negative


battery post.

B. Fastening the Negative Battery Terminal

1. Make sure that the level is in the open


position
2. Place the clamp on the negative battery
post.

3. PUSH DOWN on the clamp as much as
possible to ensure that the clamp is on the
base of the post.

NOTE: It is important to put pressure


simultaneously on both the CLAMP LEVER
and the BOLT FASTENING THE CABLE when
pushing down.

4. Adjust the tension of the clamp by turning


the clamp lever as much as necessary to
ensure a snug fit on the battery post.
