NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE CONDUCT OF VERTICAL TRANSPORTATION
SYSTEM IN PANGASINAN
“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is
success,” –by Henry Ford. This quote is best exemplified by our group as we
conducted our final term requirement in Building Utilities 2 regarding on Vertical
Transportation System in Pangasinan: Case Study and Scale Model.

First, we planned and identified the different activities that we need to do before the
conduct of the study. We prepared and accomplished the necessary documents
(request letter, parent’s consent) pertinent to the conduct of the said study. Then, we
forwarded our request letter to the Management of SM City Urdaneta Central and
waited for their approval. Our group leader, Mica Ella Gabrillo assigned each one of
us for the different tasks. Zedrick Divad, Dhan Michael Duculan, Mica Ella Gabrillo,
Abigail Gañalongo, Allen Glenn Alegado, and Paul Tabangcura were assigned for the
scale model-making. The preparation of the case study written report were
Bernadette Doria, Desiree Fernandez, Ricca Mae Fernandez, Mica Ella Gabrillo,
Jasmin Garce and Mary Grace Hitgano. In the preparation of the power point
presentation, Mica Ella Gabrillo was the one in-charged.

Second, after the approval of our request, we started to perform different activities
like getting the approximate height and width of the escalator, dimension of the steps
and hand railings. After getting the features of the escalator, we started to brainstorm
on how we will construct our scale model and the possible materials to be used. As
decided by our group, the materials for our scaled- escalator model are sintra board,
frame board (marble design), clear acetate, plastic glue, glue stick, glue gun, double
sided tape, illustration board, yellow paint, base(plywood) wood stick for railings,
toothpick, dc motor, battery, and wire.

Third, each member performed their assigned task. We worked as a group. We

collaborated and exchanged our ideas to come up with a comprehensive and
detailed output.

Finally, the experience of participating in a group activity is not merely a task to

complete; it is an opportunity to delve into the dynamics of collaboration,
communication, and collective achievement. Our recent engagement in this group
case study provided insights into the complexities and rewards of working
collaboratively. We have a great time doing our study, it is a good avenue for us to
learn more about vertical transportation system especially that it plays a significant
role in enhancing mobility and efficiency in various settings, contributing to the
overall convenience and functionality of public spaces.
