INAUGURAL MESSAGE

Judge Carl Magsoling, the presiding Judge of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court, Vice
Mayor Protacio Brazil, SB Member Richard Len Lapidario, SB Member Prospero
Brazil, SB Member Charlie Guy, SB Member Antonio Asis, SB Member Otelio
Babiano, SB Member Ruben Agner, SB Member Thelma Brazil, SB Member Letecia
Espos, National and Local Government Employees, my mother and step father John
Kungis, my brothers, to my daughter Noreanne Faith Sabdao and my son Jeaman
Hope Sabdao, distinguished guests, and my fellow San Miguelnons.

Today is a day of history and hope and a day of renewal and resolve.
Today, we celebrate the triumph not of a candidate, but of a cause, the cause of
democracy and progress. The will of the people has been heard and the will of the
people has been heeded.

By this mandate, we will press forward with speed and urgency, for we have much to
do.
We much to repair. Much to restore. Much to heal. Much to build. And much to gain.
However, it requires that most elusive things in a democracy and that is Unity and
Cooperation.

Bringing San Miguel together and uniting our people is the need of our Municipality
today. By this, I ask every San Miguelnon to join me in this cause. With unity we can
do great things.

President Duterte in his inaugural address as President of the Republic of the

Philippines said, and I quote: “No leader, however strong, can succeed at anything
unless he has the support and cooperation of the people he is tasked to lead and
sworn to serve.”

Politics need not be a raging fire destroying everything in its path. Every
disagreement doesn’t have to be a cause for disunity. Instead, it is an opportunity for
us to listen to one another. Hear one another. See one another. Show respect to one
another.

To all those who supported our campaign I am humbled by the faith you have placed
in.
And I pledge this to you: I will give my all in the service of the people, thinking not of
power, but of possibilities. Not of personal interest, but of the public good.

San Miguel I will give my best to you. Before God and all of you I give you my word.
I will be a Mayor for all San Miguenons. That means, I will work as hard for those
who did not support me as for those who did.

And together, we shall write a story of hope, not fear. Of unity, not division. Of light,
not darkness. Of love and of healing. Of greatness and of goodness.

In view of the foregoing, ibilin ko ini nga puplonganon:

“An kauswagan iginpapakigbisug, an madig-on nga prinsipyo diri napapalit.”
God bless San Miguel!
