• Participants in this study were female students from the English Department, second-year level,
College of Arts, University of Bisha in Saudi Arabia. The total number of respondents was 50, and
all were female.

(f) How were data analysed? What findings were produced? The study found that Saudi female EFL learners, starting English studies at a late stage, struggled with
English-speaking skills due to limited background knowledge. The teaching methods were teacher-centered,
with insufficient class time, and the syllabus was not appropriate for their daily needs. The lack of practice and
motivation from teachers made learners anxious and afraid of making mistakes.

I have a criticism of an important point mentioned in the research, which is a study measuring the speaking skill of female
students in one of the Saudi regions (Bisha), which is one of the regions where adequate communication educational means
are not available due to the small population there. I hoped that the study had been conducted in areas where better
educational methods were available than the city of Bisha. Such as Riyadh and Qassim
