CHAPTER 1: SUMMARY OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
1.1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This report on my training and experience has been compiled and submitted in partial fulfillment of the
requirements for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and
in partial fulfilment of the requirements for registration as a Corporate Member with the Institution of
Engineers of Kenya (IEK).

This report details the projects that I have been involved in together with a breakdown of my duties
and responsibilities in the roles I played. It also includes a description of the technical challenges
faced in the projects as well as the proposed solutions.

1.2 INTRODUCTION
I have compiled and submitted this report on my training and experience as required for
registration as a Professional Engineer with the Engineer’s Board of Kenya (EBK) as specified in
the Engineers Act 2011. It is also submitted for registration as a Corporate Member with the
Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK). Below is a short brief of how my engineering experience
has been acquired from various sources and applied in projects and assignments:

Undergraduate Education (2016 – 2021):

Internship and Attachment:2021-2022, 2023-2024

Employment Record: Include roles played and experience earned. 2022-2023- Site Engineer

Continous Professional Development:

The first chapter of this report composes a summary of my training and experience while the
second chapter gives a detailed account of my employment record and the responsibilities taken in
the various projects that I have been involved in. The third chapter forms the appendices.

In an effort to ensure continuous professional development, I have attended various events in the
engineering discipline and undertaken trainings to enhance my skill set as listed below:
• 24th - 25th August, 2020: I participated in FIDIC MODULE 1 Training on A Practical
Approach to FIDIC Contracts: 2017 Edition hosted by ACEK. This course was aimed at
sensitizing Engineers on the proper application of the conditions of Contract as part of
creating a conducive environment for construction works to be carried out and means for
solving contractual conflicts whenever they may arise.
