FORMAT OF THE RESEARCH REPORT 2024

Field Interview of an Entrepreneur

Candidates must interview an entrepreneur and produce a written report and an oral presentation. It would be
preferable that the selected entrepreneurs have ventures that have been in operation for at least five years and have
employees. Candidates must select an entrepreneur from the Artificial Intelligence industry or the Cottage Industry.

Candidates are encouraged to seek permission to record the interview using relevant technology (audio visuals, still
pictures). More than one face-to-face or virtual meeting with the entrepreneur may be needed, in order to capture
sufficient information; so plan ahead!

Interview Report The Case Study report should include a self-reflection and should not exceed 1,500 words. It must be
presented as outlined on pages 54-57. The oral presentation will be made to the teacher and peers in the class setting
(relevant computer-based or web-based tools may be used to support the presentation).

The interview may be conducted individually or in groups consisting of no more than four (4) persons. Where the
School-Based Assessment is done in groups each candidate’s reflection on impact on self must be included in the written
component of the case study report.

Candidates will be awarded individual marks for the written reflection of impact on self (marked out 5) as well as the
oral presentation of impact on self (marked out of 10). Additionally, each candidate should be awarded the group mark
obtained for the written component of the case study report (marked out of 45). Candidate’s final mark will comprise
the group mark as well as the marks for the written and oral impact-on-self (reflection)

The research project is worth 40 per cent of the candidate’s total mark.
