Educ. 110 – Building and Enhancing Literacy Skills across the Curriculum with Emphasis on
the 21st Century Skills
Second Semester, School Year 2023-2024

Part I

Program The Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education / Bachelor of
Outcomes Technology Livelihood Education aims to:
1. Demonstrate the competencies required of the Philippine TVET
Trainers – Assessors Qualifications Framework (PTTQF):
2. Demonstrate broad and coherent, meaningful & knowledge and skills
in any of the specific fields in technical-vocational teacher education
3. Apply with minimal supervision specialized knowledge and skills in
any of the specific fields in technical-vocational teacher education
4. Demonstrate higher level literacy, communication, numeracy, critical
thinking, learning skills needed for higher learning
5. Manifest a deep and principled understanding of the learning
processes and the role of the teacher in facilitating these processes
in their students
6. Show a deep and principled understanding of how educational
processes relate to larger historical, social, cultural, and political
processes
7. Apply a wide range of teaching process skills (including curriculum

Course This course introduces the concepts of new literacies in the 21 st century as
Description an evolving special phenomenon and shares cultural practices across learning
areas. The 21st century literacies shall include globalization and multi-
cultural literacy; social literacy; media literacy; financial; literacy;
cyber/digital literacy; eco-literacy; and arts and creative; literacy. Field-
based interdisciplinary explorations and other teaching strategies shall be
used in this course.
