lvaro Quintero from Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD)
presented information regarding the services and programs APD
offers for people with disabilities. These are available for people
with 7 specific diagnoses (Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, Spina
Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Downs Syndrome,
and Phelan-McDermid Syndrome) as they age. Applicants are able
to pre-enroll at an early age for services they will need starting at
age 21. They also provide services for young adults to be ready to
access Vocational Rehabilitation. It is best to call to start the
application process 407-245-0440. Parents can apply for their
disabled dependents before the age of 18 even though services
may not be provided for many years. APD can also provide services
earlier in situations determined as a crisis. They also provide
funding for group homes that medicaid does not. For further
