A historical centre with
a Mediterranean soul
Valencia has one of the Europe´s
largest historical centres. More
than 2000 years of history have
left a deep impression and a rich
artistic heritage, so this area is a
must see. Both La Lonja (Silk
Exchange) and the Tribunal de las
Aguas (Tribunal of Waters), which
meets every Thursday at the
Puerta de los Apóstoles in the
Cathedral, form part of the
prestigious UNESCO World
Heritage list.

6
The list of must-sees in the
historic centre is long, with
treasures such as the Cathedral
and the Holy Chalice, the Mercado
Central, the frescoes in the
Church of San Nicolás, the
Serranos Towers, the Plaza
Redonda and the National
Ceramics Museum, among others.
That is why the ideal is to spend a
whole day touring it.

In the morning, come to the urban

the place where the paella was
invented?

and taste its typical dishes. Try
the all-i-pebre (eels with garlic
and red pepper sauce), the llisa
adobada(grey mullet marinated)
or the risotto-type and dry rice
dishes, and feel a new way of
understanding food:
understanding its origin as well.

36
El Palmar is the best place
to try the authentic
Valencian paella made with
ingredients from the
orchard itself and enjoy a
