Shading Practice Gr 8

For this assignment you will be practicing the shading techniques that we have gone through in class. If
you need a reminder of what these skills are, please look on teams for both this document and the
PowerPoint that was shown in class.

You are to choose 4 forms (3 dimensional shapes. Ex cube) of your choice and shade them as best you
can. Please use 1 shading technique per form that you are creating. Remember to choose where the
light source is as the opposite will be where the shadow appears.

Steps:

1. Take out materials

a. Sketchbook
b. Pencil case
2. Open sketchbook to new page
3. Draw form big enough to fill the ENTIRE PAGE of your sketchbook
4. Choose 1 shading technique
5. Repeat above steps for all shapes that are chosen.
